Traditionally, the two cards dealt to the Banker hand are placed face down. Next, the dealer draws the third card. The baccarat house has a 1.24% edge on the Player bet and a 1.06% edge on the Banker bet. For every ten units wagered, the average payout for the Player bet is one unit, while the average payout for the Banker bet is two units.
One of the most popular strategies is to bet on the Banker. There is a commission fee attached to the Banker bet, but this is the best way to increase your chances of winning. Bets on the Banker bet will pay out at least 95% of the original amount. However, winning a Banker bet requires a 5% commission.
Another strategy involves sticking with the Player bet. If the first two cards totaled eight or nine, the game is considered a ‘natural,’ and players win automatically. On the other hand, if the player’s first two cards total less than nine, the hand is a ‘tie,’ and the players receive a payout of only eight to one.
